One Product Metric to Rule Them All
The Jobs-to-be-Done framework states that a given product or service is hired by someone for solving a problem or achieving a goal. So, the essence of any good product is its capability of serving people.
However, product analytics is mostly about metrics related to how the tool is used.
That doesn't make much sense.
A product or service comes to life because of people's needs. It's on the way to success once it's capable of doing a good job improving a valuable aspect of someone's life.
So, why so much obsession tracking the time spent on the tool? Or how many times someone logged into the platform in the last week?
None of this is relevant if no one keeps track of how the product is making the users' lives better.
